So here is my first update on using Travis’s patterns, his Degas bodice in size G. \u00a0As this is the first time using this pattern progress has been slow as i have had to work out cut out layouts, add seams and progress steps, some of which I am having to retro-do but I now have the hang of it. \u00a0Next update it will be done and we will be on to the next element.<\/p>\n

I picked a thick, cream poly satin for the main body with hand-loom pure silk dupion binding in cork. \u00a0The lines could very easily become burlesque with stronger colours or even Spanish so much of my stock did not support the classical\/historic\/wedding vibe I was after. \u00a0I suspect this will mainly be seen close up so added an extra layer of a thick, soft cotton between the American coutil inner and the satin to ensure the satin did not show the boning channels through directional shine.<\/p>\n

This pattern is going together beautifully with no pieces over or under-sized against another. \u00a0I am \u00a0very excited to finish it. \u00a0Till then, however, enjoy my progress to date with the potato pictures f.<\/p>\n
