Fun and shenanigans with new patterns!

One of the things I am currently working on (along with completing three traditional tutus which are almost complete on my desk) is adding stretch tutus to my range.  I have worked with stretch tutus before and feel that they have a great number of benefits.  With improving patterns and fabrics they are also becoming significantly more mainstream and, with good choices of fabrics, constructions and designs, they can provide comparable looks to traditional tutus.

As part of the process of increasing my output of stretch tutus these past few weeks have included steps such as sourcing patterns, fabrics and a new sewing machine in order to be able to more reliably make these items.  The next step is to make up leotard sizes and to make a few sample tutus in order to demonstrate the possibilities of stretch tutus.

It is because of this I have spent most of the day on the floor, surrounded by patterns, fabrics, colour charts and most of my current stock of decorative items designing 6 tutus.  And I realised this was a good way to show one of the ways I go about designing my tutus.  So here are the shots for the 6 tutus I have designed.  I hope this shows just some of what you can do with a tutu!
