So I made a HUGE decision for me a few weeks ago and that was to buy a new sewing machine. After lots of looking around I decided on a Pfaff machine. I won’t bore you with the inns and outs of which machine I chose and why it has taken almost three weeks from payment to arrive but it is now here. Shout out to the team at Direct Sewing Machines, Battersea for keeping me in the loop and acting as a go between-you have kept me sane in the last few weeks.
I have got as far as setting it up and sewing a few stitches. Already it is a lot more complicated than my other machine, my nana’s stalwart Frister and Rossman, brought in 1975 (to replace one my dad broke-so the family story goes!). I am not retiring the Frister-far from it- but it is from a time when stretch fabric were few and far between. However, very few modern machines can stand 10 layers of tutu net in the way my dear Frister laps it up! Notice on one of the pictures my other sewing machine, my Huskylock overlocker. Again nothing fancy, but boy does it lap up miles and miles of overlocking.
I took pictures of the unboxing and setting up. Enjoy!
