Beyond the costume business I am an engineer. My specialism is Alzheimer’s but my passion is Victorian steam. Don’t get me started cause I won’t stop. Thus this week anything pretty went away, well away, as coal dust when it’s fine gets everywhere, and it stains. Why is this an issue this week? It’s my favourite week of the year, it’s BOILER CLEAN WEEK! It’s crawl 60ft on your belly through inches of soot in total darkness to yell through the gloom for a torch, a hand brush and the end of a Hoover to clean back 90ft in cramped, wind blown conditions, all of the accumulated soot for a year. Four showers later I might be clean again. Horrible though it sounds I would not miss it for the world.
So forgive the lack of pretties of late. I have been safely stashing them away, including this new stretch tutu i finally finished waiting for a new home. Love the two tone lace on this one!
